Powerflushing
This is a solution to dislodge and flush away silt, sediment, corrosion and any other deposits that are within the central heating circuit. This is done by adding a mixture of chemicals to the system using the reservoir attached to the pump in the boiler, letting it run for a while on a high-velocity low-pressure setting, draining it, running through fresh water and a neutralizing solution, then draining that, and refilling the system with fresh water and a corrosion inhibitor. This is often done before a boiler installation (in fact, most manufacturers will insist on it, to remain eligible for breakdown-related warranties), and general time estimates indicate that an hour per radiator is required.
